A blend of syrah, mataro and grenache from the Riversdale Vineyard in Frankland River. Interesting that the syrah includes a couple of Rhone clones, 877 and 470, which are starting to have a significant impact on WA syrahs. Perfumed exotic notes of spices and red fruit. The palate is medium weight, elegant and seamlessly refined. Love the chewy fine grained tannins and clever use of oak including a portion of new.
